Thank you for your interest in scheduling a class visit to the library. Rochester Public Library appreciates the opportunity to share public library services with your students. In order to provide the best possible service to your students and the community, we ask that you follow these class visit guidelines:

  • Appropriate adult supervision must be provided by the school for the duration of the class visit. We recommend a minimum of one teacher/aide/parent helper for every 8 students.
  • Class visits are limited to one hour unless students are working on a research project or other activity.
  • Students are expected to follow the library's code of conduct at all times in order to keep the library safe and welcoming for all users. https://www.rochesterpubliclibrary.org/my-rpl/about-us/code-of-conduct
  • If library cards are requested for the class, registration forms must be returned one week prior to the scheduled class visit.
  • Each class/teacher is limited to a maximum of three library hosted class visits per year. In the case of special projects requiring more library hosted visits, please contact Heather Acerro to make arrangements.

The online form for scheduling 2019/2020 school year visits will be available on this page in mid-August.

If you have any questions about class visits, please contact Heather Acerro, Head of Youth Services at hacerro@rochester.lib.mn.us or 507-328-2339.
