Since its establishment in 1996, the Rochester Public Library Foundation has been raising funds to support the library in a manner that does not diminish the need for strong public funding from the City of Rochester and Olmsted County.  Your support will help continue vital library programs and services.

Donations can be made electronically

PRINTABLE DONATION form is also available.

Endowment Fund

The Rochester Public Library Foundation maintains and manages an Endowment Fund that functions as a quasi-endowment and is intended to provide on-going support to the Rochester Public Library.

The Foundation's investment objective is to provide a stable annual return, while preserving principal to the extent possible. The Foundation recognizes that there will be fluctuations in the investment market from year to year, while at the same time, the library strives to enrichment and excellence through a stable source of funds from the Foundation.

Make a gift to the Endowment Fund through:

  • a cash gift
  • donation of stocks, bonds, and other assets
  • name the Rochester Public Library Foundation as a beneficiary in your will

Memorial/Honor Gifts

Remember the life of a family member, friend or colleague

  • celebrate a new baby, birthday, anniversary, or other special event
  • acknowledge a graduation, new job, promotion, or other achievement
  • thank a friend or a group for special help or kindnesses... giving a gift to the Rochester Public Library Foundation.

Your donation will honor the special people in your life and help the library to grow as well. Gifts will be used to purchase books or other circulating materials for the library.

The names of donors are also included in a memorial/honorarium book on display in the Foundation office.

When you give $500 to the Book-A-Year Endowment, a book in your name (or the name you designate) will be purchased each year in perpetuity for the Rochester Public Library.
