Rochester Public Library (RPL) invites kids, teens, and adults to read and explore this summer with the Summer Playlist summer reading and activities program June 1-August 31.
“This year Summer Playlist highlights the wonders of Minnesota nights,” says Heather Acerro, Head of Youth Services at RPL. “You can spend time reading to complete the Summer Playlist, but you may also design the program to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of everyone in your family. You can try a new activity from our list – such as counting fireflies or hooting at owls, or you can complete your own personal activity goals throughout the summer.”
Summer Playlist started Monday, June 1. Participants can find activity playlists in six languages through August 31 at the following locations:
Once participants have their playlist, they color in the fireflies as they complete different activities like reading, stargazing, counting fireflies, or visiting the bookmobile. Once everything is colored in, they can return the playlist to the Library or the Bookmobile. Those who complete this year’s program by 8 p.m. on Monday, August 31, will receive a beautiful nighttime nature-themed 2026 Summer Playlist bookbag featuring local nocturnal animals.
