Up to 24 pieces will be selected for display in the gallery. Artists of all ages are welcome to submit artwork. Please be mindful of all ages of viewers. The gallery walls are secured behind glass and located just inside the Youth Services area on the first floor. The show will be juried by Rochester Public Library Youth Services staff. Selections will be made based on relevance to the theme, adherence to technical guidelines (below), artistic merit, craftsmanship, originality, and completeness of the application. Artists will be notified via e-mail or phone regarding the display of their artwork.
Eligibility
All artists must be residents of Olmsted County at the time of submission. All styles and media will be accepted, but work must be sized within 12” wide x 12” high x 1” deep. If they wish, artists may pick up a 12” x 12” surface from the Youth Services desk with which to create their art. All submissions must be original works of art. Entries may be submitted in person or via email for consideration. Accepted entries must be delivered to the library at least one week prior to the start date of the exhibition. Physical submissions not selected must be picked up by the start date of the exhibition. Selected artwork that arrives unframed or unmounted will be hung by the best method determined by staff.
