Sound Booth
The sound booth can be reserved for recording sounds in a controlled environment. It is located by the window on the south side of the library building in the Fiction, Movies & Music area.
About the Sound Booth
- Inside dimensions: 48" x 72"
- Maximum capacity: 1 person
- Not completely soundproof - so keep this in mind when using it for recording
- Can be reserved for 2 hours/day, in 15-minute increments
- Use to record podcasts, poetry, oral histories, music, or virtual meetings
- Accessibility: small step, not wheelchair accessible. Please reach out to staff to find another space option that may be available.
Sound Booth Equipment
- Blue Yeti USB microphone
- No other recording equipment is available, so be sure to bring your own
Usage Requirements
- Keep the Sound Booth secure (locked if not present in booth)
- Check in and out at the FMM desk every time you exit
- No eating inside the Sound Booth
Reserve the Sound Booth
- Visit our Room Reservation System or call us at 507-328-2305
- Can be reserved for up to 2 hours per day, in 15-minute increments
When your reservation is approved, stop by the Fiction, Movies & Music desk in order for staff to unlock the sound booth for your use.
Food and drink are not allowed in the sound booth.
If leaving the reservation for a short break, staff must be informed and the sound booth locked. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in suspension of access to this resource.
